Account Manager, New York
About Us
The OTC derivatives market moves trillions of dollars daily on infrastructure that hasn't fundamentally changed in decades. We're building the platform for the next evolution of financial services.
We're a small team that came from trading, quant, and engineering roles at tier one financial institutions who were previously responsible for creating some of the most innovative products in the market. We are now building a platform which can process the most complex transactions executed across financial markets. We are building this right: delightful experience, modern stack, AI-native architecture.
Our clients are the most sophisticated banks, hedge-funds, and asset managers in the world. The problems are extremely hard, the scale is massive, and we're creating infrastructure that will define how this market operates for decades to come.
About the Role
Float is scaling its distribution organization, and this is a foundational commercial hire at the center of that effort. This is Float's first dedicated Account Management hire — a mid-level, individual-contributor role that takes ownership of the installed client base. You'll own onboarding, implementation, adoption, renewals and day-to-day client management across a book of sophisticated capital-markets clients, working hand-in-hand with Sales, Engineering and Product to deliver strong outcomes.
This is a client-facing, relationship-driven role focused on retention, adoption and expansion within existing products — distinct from new-logo Sales. As an early commercial hire, you'll help shape a lean, AI-native go-to-market organization from the outset.
What You’ll Do
- Project-manage onboarding, implementation and client training, working closely with Sales, Engineering and Product to deliver smooth, timely deployments and accelerate time-to-value
- Own the day-to-day relationship and management of a book of existing hedge fund clients, expanding to other segments in time
- Drive adoption and client health across the installed base — monitoring usage and running regular business reviews that demonstrate ROI and ensure clients realize the full value of Float
- Own renewals and drive expansion within existing products, accountable for strong retention and growing adoption across your book
- Spot broader commercial opportunities and introduce Sales where a new buying decision is involved
- Act as the client's primary commercial point of contact and own issue escalation end-to-end — coordinating with Engineering and Product and tracking resolution to closure
- Act as the voice of the client inside Float, channeling structured feedback to Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap
- Turn successful clients into references, case studies and warm introductions that support Float's growth
- Maintain disciplined account mappings and account plans in Float's internal systems, keeping accurate records of stakeholders, client health and opportunities
- Use AI tooling aggressively to monitor adoption and client health, prepare account reviews and surface risks, engagement gaps and expansion opportunities
Requirements
- Solid experience in account management, client services, implementation, onboarding or customer success — ideally selling or servicing technology, data or infrastructure in capital markets or financial technology
- This role is based in-person at our NYC office
- Track record managing and growing a book of enterprise clients, driving strong adoption, retention and renewals
- Strong project-management and organizational skills; able to coordinate onboarding and implementation across multiple clients and internal teams
- A fast learner with strong intellectual curiosity — able to get up to speed quickly on complex capital-markets workflows and technical products
- Start-up or early-stage experience preferred — comfort operating with ambiguity, minimal structure and high ownership
- Credible with sophisticated market participants; able to build trusted relationships with clients such as banks, hedge funds, asset managers and asset owners
- Collaborative and execution-focused, with excellent communication skills and a bias toward action
- Willingness to travel to be on-site with clients, including transatlantic travel
Bonus Qualifications
- Sell-side or buy-side experience (front office or operational)
- Familiarity with OTC derivatives
- Experience embedding AI into client-management or GTM processes, enthusiasm for using AI to work more effectively
- Experience implementing or onboarding enterprise financial technology
